Home!

I'm home safe and sound, but reeling from the news that I've come home to. My thoughts are with the people of Manchester at such a horrific time.

I won't be posting any pics or con reports tonight; fun and frivolity just doesn't seem appropriate right now, so I'll save it for the weekend.

Hate achieves nothing, but it causes a lot of pain in the process of being futile.

This weekend has shown me that the  Spn Family proves the exact opposite.  It proves that love and respect can cross boundarlies, cultures and religions.  As a smaller part of that, JIB has continued to achieve what the stupid politicians and the bloodsucking bureaucrats have failed to do - keeping Europe (and, indeed, the rest of the world) united.

We can all be proud to be a part of it.

Glad you're home safe and sound.

I can't even be that angry, just sad that we live in a world that someone feels it necessary to blow themselves up taking as many teenage girls with them as they could.

You're right. The world seems like a very scary, unhappy place at the moment. Is it any wonder we like to escape into fandom?

Thank you x

I'm glad you made it home safely, my dear.

Wonderfully said and yes, the world united that's how I felt here at LJ as well!
Get some rest, my dear and WELCOME BACK home!

I 'm fine! As I said to fairynaimh, my home is 200 miles from Manchester, so it hasn't directly impacted on me in any way, it's just sad to see these terrible things still going on in the world, and the depths that some people will stoop to, and for what purpose?
What purpose is worth killing twenty young people for? No purpose at all, ever. That's what makes it all so incomprehensible.

As I said to Jj, when someone does something this horrendous and people respond by allowing it to stop them being frivolous, that someone wins. Personally I think the way to honor the memory of people killed by hateful acts that are designed to break the actual humans on the planet is to continue to be ourselves and not let someone drag us down.

Glad you're home safe and sound honey, welcome back x♥x

I totally agree with you, that's completely my ethos when facing terrorism. Treat the slime with the contempt they deserve.

I think yesterday, coming home from JIB with full-blown post-con blues and then being confronted by that hideous news just made me feel so blah that I couldn't have written a word of frivolity if my life depended on it!

*hugs* Understandable. ♥

Good to see you home safe, and I can understand about wanting to be a little low key at the moment. In a couple of days our version of normality will kick in and we can squee to our hearts content.

[identity profile] dizzojay.livejournal.com 2017-05-29 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, squeeing has resumed. I'm not letting that inadequate arsewipe change the way I do things. I'm going to squee louder and more obnoxiously!

What awful news to come home to, back to reality with a crash for you. It was so horrific to choose an event that was going to be mainly teens and families, heartless cowardly bastard. Hate achieves nothing, but it causes a lot of pain in the process of being futile. so true x

You just can't get inside the heads of these people. To be so filled with hate that even the lives of youngsters mean nothing. What a pitiful, pathetic apology for a human being.
