So, yesterday morning, train strikes notwithstanding, I headed off to Olympia in London for London Film and Comic Con.  I had one specific purpose for going, and this was the it:

I do have a soft spot for the wonderful Mister Tennant and I'm thrilled to say he was every bit as delightful as people say he is!

After the madness of 2018, I was expecting 2019 to be a much quieter, less busy year.

And of course, I was hopelessly, gloriously wrong about that!

There may not have been travels to Iceland and broken limbs to contend with, but there were six cons, European travels, lots of art, lots of writing and, yes, beautiful fandom madness!

Howdy!

I haven't been around much these last few days, but I have been using my time very constructively ... so long as your definition of constructive is pretty flexible!

I've been co-ordinating a fundraising week in aid of the Care Workers Charity at work, which has been great fun.  So far we've raised £582.  I'm aware of at least £350 more - I really hope we can make it over £1,500 when everything is totted up.

In addition, I've been preparing for my first big art show of the Summer season which kicks off next Saturday, which, in turn, always clashes with GISH (formerly known as GISHWHES).  So GISH kicked off last Saturday, and that means my evenings this week are filled with weirdness and wonderfulness as I work my way through that.  I have something lined up for tomorrow night, which I can't tell you about, but let's just say - it involves my tongue!!

In other news, I had a WONDERFUL day at London Film and Comic Con on Saturday where I met up with our gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] milly_gal and the almost as gorgeous John Barrowman.

Here are the mugshots...

So that's my week ... normal Jensen-lovin' service will be resumed shortly!

Well, a lovely, if tiring, day was had by all yesterday.  I was shattered when I got home; shattered, hungry, footsore, and very happy!  It was great to catch up with  amberdreams, her hubby Paul, xlittleangx, theymp and his lovely family and Lone, our friend from Denmark.  Not that I saw much of them all!  There was so much going on, we were all running around doing different stuff.  Getting together was like herding cats!

At 3 pm, I disappeared into the photo halls as I had two photo ops booked; one at 3.30 pm with John Cleese and one at 5.00 pm with Mads Mikkelsen, and I gradually became embroiled in a melee of Rogue-worthy crowd and queue chaos.  It wasn't helped by the fact that poor John Cleese had to take an unprogrammed break during his photo shoot (I don't blame the guy, he is 80 and it was all a bit exhausting, hot and overpowering), but it kind of threw everything else out.  I ended up getting my photos at 5.45 pm and 6.45 pm (45 minutes after the show ended!)  But I got them, and that's the important thing.

Here are some of the highlights of a wonderful day:
